Breaking the Sounds' Barrier, Reading By Ear, Inc. is a small, new publishing firm that's making a difference in the classrooms and homes of America! Using the arts to help children learn to read, they have placed MUSIC at the core of their curriculum. The songs feature Jim Post, who wrote and sang a number-one hit in the 60s,'Reach Out of the Darkness,' under the label Friend and Lover. These 4 CDs are part of an entire curriculum that features a teacher's manual, a song book (containing detailed dance movements -- some children learn predominately by moving -- and musical notation and lyrics for every song), and 30 stories -- one for every letter of the alphabet, plus ch, sh, th, and ng.
