Liner notes by Alto Sax legend Richie Cole: \'I first met Janine Santana quite a few years ago at a jazz picnic for my friend and Philadelphia piano great Eddie Green. It was a beautiful summer afternoon in my hometown of Trenton N.J..While talking to Janine she told me she was home visiting relatives and I was impressed. It takes a very special person to to come from a town without pity like Trenton, New Jersey. Janine was working with a Latin band in Denver at the time and whenever I performed in town she would come by to hear some \'Alto Madness\'. About a year ago she began telling me about her own project she was working on with pianist/producer Jeff Jenkins. Jeff and I have worked together for many years whenever I performed in Colorado. He is a great musician. When Janine asked me to be part of her project I had to say yes. I enjoyed the wide variety of material she decided to present on this CD. She chose the best musicians in town and Janine\'s percussion work is fabulous. When my long time friend Prasanna Bishop/Akshic Studio heard I was coming to Boulder he offered to record a Richie Cole CD at the same time. The name of the CD is Mile High Madness, and of course it features Janine Santana. All my best to Janine, keep up the good work and don\'t forget \'Trenton Makes, the World Takes\'. Richie Cole March 2008.
