Kim Kashkashian J.S. Bach: Six Suites for Viola Solo CD

Bach's six cello suites, played on the viola by one of the instrument's greatest exponents, Kim Kashkashian.

For Kashkashian, Bach's music is both a "true and faithful companion" and a reference point against which all creative endeavor may be measured.

 "Music is a parable and a guide for all the challenges and triumphs of life," she writes in an artist's note here, adding that Bach "leads us to new insights and joys as we approach the mysterious and miraculous point of intersection where craft and art become one."
