Originally released as a triple vinyl album for this year’s Record Store Day, Cracked Actor - Live In Los Angeles will now be available as a limited edition 2CD digipak with a twelve page booklet featuring notes from the original LA Amphitheatre show programme and a contemporary piece about the LA ‘Philly Dogs’ shows from Rolling Stone's Richard Cromelin dated 10th October, 1974. Cracked Actor – Live In Los Angeles is the first official release of this ‘Philly Dogs Tour’ show from September 1974, some of which was featured in the 1975 BBC documentary ‘Cracked Actor’. All of the 16 track multi track tapes were finally reunited in one place in November of last year and mixed officially for the first time by long time Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti. ? Cracked Actor – Live In Los Angeles captures the second leg of the Diamond Dogs tour. The album differs greatly from Bowie’s ‘David Live’ album (recorded in July 1974) as it features a new band line up including soul legend Luther Vandross on vocals. It also features a different set list including tracks that had then just been recorded for the album ‘The Gouster’ which was finally released for the first time last year in the critically acclaimed ‘Who Can I Be Now?’ box set.
