'R u a cop?' It's a question that plagues the minds of petty criminals, motorcycle gang members, aspiring hooligans and illegal immigrants – but that's exactly why The Meeting Tree's 'R U A Cop' encapsulates the voice of our generation.

The erratic and frenzied lovechild of Joyride and Raph Lauren (of Jackie Onassis fame), The Meeting Tree deliver the most exciting sounds to emerge from Redfern since Anthony Mundine's rap career. Formed after a sold-out national tour as members of the One Day clique, both men needed a new artistic outlet, and a new revenue stream for expensive watches and unnecessary Versace accessories.

Filled with rich melodies, cloudy production and localised larrikinism, 'R U A Cop' somehow manages to blend hip-hop, electronica and pop without being terrible. In fact, this EP is the polar opposite of terrible. Lyrically, "First Place Pt. 1" is the most obnoxious track to penetrate your earholes in years, but delivered with such silky finesse that it's bound to become a karaoke classic.

Meanwhile, the "R U A Cop" title track is a trap-tinged banger that's destined for festival stages, with an aggressive drop that's enough to make you scull a reverse Jagerbomb and shirtfront an undercover. The track features multi-Platinum selling artist and ARIA award winner Adamio Hyde, one half of rambunctious turn up kings Peking Duk. The duo also put their golden touches on the project by mastering the EP.

Other tracks on 'R U A Cop' also prove to be mind-boggling in the best way possible. "Travelling Bear Blues" evokes images of a sleepy rural escapade, while ‘Vous et Moi' transports you instantly to an illegal rave den with seizure-inducing lighting.
