After the release of 2013’s Split, their first album with Spunk, the band toured nationally on a number of occasions. Up and down Australia's infamous "deadly" Hume Highway the band played in stores, gigs, birthday parties and bar mitzvah's, anywhere between Canberra and Kununurra.

Late in 2013, The Ocean Party set about recording their follow up, this time with a totally different approach. Where in the past the band recorded live with minimal overdubs, in little more than a few sessions. This time the intent was creating something more ambitious both sonically and in songwriting. The album was recorded over several months in different studios with Jake Phillips assisting in recording. Songwriting for this record was divided between all members of the band, a point which separates them from most of their contemporaries in Melbourne.

The first taste of their labour comes in the form of ‘Wading In’. Broadcasting a mood not too dissimilar to The Triffids and Eno era Roxy Music, 'Wading In' still retains the same distinctly Australian sound heard on the band’s earlier releases.
