Rave Tapes is the first studio album from the Glasgow five-piece since 2011's Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will.

Not that they have been resting on their considerable laurels: that record was swiftly followed by its concomitant remix set A Wrenched Virile Lore, and this year saw Mogwai release their soundtrack to the acclaimed supernatural drama Les Revenants. The soundtrack attracted praise from the likes of The Guardian, BBC, and Pitchfork, with The Quietus ruminating, “The suspense of waiting for the unholy sonic assault with which they have made their name and it never actually materializing makes this a truly tense listening experience, which in turn also makes it the perfect soundtrack to Les Revenants. Rave Tapes was Recorded at the band's Castle Of Doom studio in Glasgow, by the band with producer Paul Savage.

Rave Tapes sees Mogwai battering on the door of 2014 with arguably their strongest set yet. The album is introduced by 'Remurdered', whom Richard Kingsmill from triple J describe as 'hypnotically good stuff'. The band have toured Australia countless times and have built up a very LOYAL fan base.
