Skins Redux comprises of 3 two-part films in which we revisit familiar faces from previous series. Each film has its own distinct feel and flavour. With characters from series 1 now in their early 20s, themes are hard-hitting and emotional at times; identities are in flux and in one way or another, circumstances are chaotic. The series aims to appeal to established Skins fans and to viewers new to the show. The two-part films should function as stand-alone drama pieces even for those with no prior knowledge of the characters. Skin is aimed at young people but has an increasing crossover appeal to older audiences. The show moves with the times, and reflects the times, but is not preoccupied with trends or fashion fads. It has edge because the energy of the programme derives from young contributors and writers.
