‘The Flood And The Mercy’ is the 2nd solo album from former Live front man Ed Kowalczyk .
Since 2009—when he left Live, the widely-loved band that he'd led for more than two decades—the habitually restless singer-songwriter-guitarist has experienced a remarkable creative rebirth that continues on The Flood and the Mercy.
Ed’s last Australian tour in 2012 saw a sold out theatre tour nationally with multiple shows in each city. The Australian tour also led to a film clip recording at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre for the single ‘Stand’.
2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of Live’s ‘Throwing Copper’ and plans are well underway for Ed’s return to Australia to celebrate.
Ed entered the studio this year to work on the follow up to his first solo record ‘Alive’, enlisting the legendary Tom Lord Alge and also Ted Jensen whom Ed had worked with on Live’s ‘Throwing Copper’.
Between 1994 and 2009, Live staked out a singular musical niche, releasing seven acclaimed studio albums, playing countless live shows and building a remarkably passionate fan base that continues to embrace Kowalczyk's solo work. Along the way, the band sold over 20 million albums worldwide, leaving an indelible mark upon the lives of listeners around the world.
