Acclaimed as ‘The Voice of Ireland’, Tommy Fleming is one of the Emerald Isle’s top entertainers, with a career spanning 20 years and album sales around the world exceeding 1.5 million. Now, on the eve of his much-anticipated Australian tour – Tommy’s third visit to these shores – ABC Music is proud to announce the Australian release of his new album Begin.

It’s Tommy’s first new album in six years, and perhaps his most personal, coming out of a period of self-imposed exile from music, as he re-evaluated his life and his singing following the loss of both his parents, who passed away unexpectedly within hours of each other in March last year. Recording these 15 songs was a cathartic experience that helped him to come to terms with his grief, and gave him the strength to BEGIN again.

“This album is put together with love, memories, grief, despair and acceptance,” says Tommy. Included with the CD is a bonus DVD containing the one-hour documentary ‘Behind the Voice’, a chronicle of Tommy Fleming’s life in music featuring never before seen footage – a rare glimpse into the personality behind the performer. Also on the DVD are three bonus songs: The Bantry Girls’ Lament, The Water Is Wide and Green Grow the Rushes.
