The Late Blue’s preview track ‘Sorry’ was the first glimpse of what’s to come from Gypsy & The Cat circa 2012 - a sonic melting pot with a soaring infectious refrain. From this early insight, it moves effortlessly forward, delivering dreamscape ballads with washed out melodies, driving tom-fuelled rock with dance-floor highs, to lazy Nordic grooves with cascading Moogs and liquid tones. The Late Blue was produced, written and recorded entirely by Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers and then mixed by the perennial genius of Dave Fridman (MGMT, Flaming Lips) - an album written on the road, referential to the past, recorded in the country, to be played in the city today and tomorrow, and proudly released via their own label Alsatian Music.
