Gareth Malone takes on the challenge of forming a choir of military wives while their husbands and partners are deployed on a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Gareth uses his musical skills to help the wives through their fear for and separation of their husbands and the choir comes together to perform for the army, the town and their returning husbands. Finally, their crowning achievement: the choir perform Wherever You Are, the song based on their letters and lyrics in front of the Queen and Royal family at the festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. It is a night no one who witnessed it will ever forget.
