Dream Cargoes

After collaborating on exclusive tracks for the label‘s lovingly-acidic "Forward To The Past" series, Dutch duo TJ Kong & Modular K prepare to drop their debut full-length, 'Dream Cargoes‘ on Poker Flat. Having been friends and colleagues in the Dutch electronic scene for well over a decade, the talented pair have so much experience in working on different studio projects, and now come together in this glorious full-length exploration of their vision of house and techno today. Erwin Van Moll (TJ Kong) and Gijs Janssen (Modular K) represent two decades of collected experience in the underground techno and electronic music worlds. TJ Kong already released a coupe of albums since 1995 and collaborations include Nuno dos Santos, Russ Gabriel, Nicolette, Robert Owens, Elbee Bad and many more. Most recently TJ Kong is featured with two (!) productions on Pete Tong’s Best of 2011! Mixmag-CD. Modular K has also been a vital part in the European scene since the late 90s alongside TJ Kong and they’ve released on labels like Four:Twenty, Large, Compost and Poker Flat. Something of an enigma in recent times, ‘Dream Cargoes‘, is a stunning example of the work of real musicians with time, experience and genuine musical knowledge on their hands. Showing their true experience, vision and production expertise in abundance, TJ Kong & Modular K are here to stay with their new output, for high-times in the clubs and also for luxurious home listening. The pair are obviously keen archivists of the classic House and Techno sound, yet the high-end studio lustre, amorous synth work and attention to detail all attest to their desire to continue look towards the future too.
