In 1644, MoliÈre (a brilliant Romain Duris) is an impetuous 22-year-old. He's an undeniably bad actor and is up to his eyes in debt. And then, after having been imprisoned by his impatient creditors, he disappears... his release, we discover, is funded by the wealthy Monsieur Jourdain. Brought into his chalet, Moliere is soon embroiled in a hotbed of romance, repartee, subterfuge and seduction.
