Palm Island, 65 km north-west of Townsville, has a bad history with kids. Most have entered a cycle of dysfunction, drugs, alcohol and violence by the age of 15. Governments have attempted to break the cycle, but former boxer and trainer Ray Dennis reckons what the kids need is hope and the promise of a better life. This is the story of how Ray Dennis saved himself, and many of the kids of Palm Island, through boxing. These two and a half hours will follow the journey of four of these kids; their families, histories, experiences and issues, as they fight not only for the title but also for their own future.
