Four men who are interested in ghost stories get together each week to share tales of horror. Their innocent pastime turns into a real-life ghost story when someone from their past returns for vengeance. The Chowder Society, a group of elderly gentlemen played by screen legends Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and John Houseman (The Fog), gather each week in a gloomy New England mansion to share incredible tales of horror. However, real fear and terror starts to haunt the foursome when they discover one of the most frightening stories is actually coming to life. All of its members are beginning to not only have horrific dreams but also vivid visitations from a female spirit. The apparition is apparently feeding off their guilt while seeking vengeance for an unmentionable act, which is the horrible secret the four men all share. Ghost Story features gorgeous cinematography and a sublimely creepy performance from Alice Krige (Silent Hill).
