The Imperial Ice Stars are some of the leading performers of world-class ice skating on the intimacy of the theatre stage. The Company boasts 25 World, European and National Championship skaters who between them have won over 200 competition medals. Using the complete soundtrack from the show and filmed live in Sydney, Australia 2006 during the World Tour’s first leg, this stunning DVD captures the art form of Ice Dance and allows the viewer to truly marvel at the skills of the Imperial Ice Stars. Superb sets, lighting design, Tony Mercer’s direction and Tchaikovsky’s beautiful music specially performed by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Tim A. Duncan, together with a cast of 26 skaters - including Vadim Yarkov and Olga Sharutenko (Dancing on Ice) - combine to create a very special production. In this magical performance, choreographer Tony Mercer and musical arranger Tim A. Duncan have produced a scenario and score which recreates Tchaikovsky’s original intention to have Odette and Odile danced by different dancers. Odile is played by the beautiful, multi-award-winner Olena Pyatash, while Odette is played by the talented Olga Sharutenko.
