Get Awkward

Get Awkward is the sophomore full-length from Nashville teenagers Be Your Own Pet. After the riot of their self-titled debut , BYOP return with a more explosive record that fans of the Nashville country music bastion Grand Ole Opry certainly would not approve of! The songs remain fast and loud, totally wired and tantalizingly brief, and the band work once again with producer and Redd Kross veteran Steve McDonald. Think Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and The Stooges to get a feel of the energy of this album.

Graduating from basement parties to touring with Arctic Monkeys, doing interviews with homemade fanzines to Rolling Stone, the four-piece have come a long way in a short time. JJJ and community stations thrashed the first album and newspapers and music press instantly picked up on the band.

Note that this edition of the new album has three tracks more than the US version.
