As intoxicating as the libation it was named after (1 part whiskey and a splash of orange and sour mix), 'Stone Sour' is a molotov cocktail of an album - 1 part pure rock adrenalin with a splash of melody. Originally formed in 1992, the band went on a hiatus in 1997 when lead singer Corey Taylor exited to don a mask and become the voice of the gold-selling Slipknot. Eager to remove the mask and get back to a more introspective and intinate take on music, Taylor hooked up with former guitarist Josh Rand and began to write what became 'Stone Sour'. With guitarist Jim Root (also of Slipknot fame), drimmer Joe Ekman and bassist Shawn Economaki, Stone Sour was born.

Produced by Toby Wright (Soulfly), 'Stone Sour' is not another Slipknot album; rather it is an album of uncompromising artistry combining equal parts melody, anger and emotion. According to Taylor, the sound is "more like Metallica meets Alice In Chains". With songs ranging from from the sparse acoustic single 'Bother' (already featured on the 'Spider-Man' soundtrack) to the crushingly anthemic 'Get Inside', Stone Sour have produced an album that will allow you to experience the greatest band you never heard.
