Vikings Season 6 Part 2 - Who's Excited?

With Game of Thrones now over, audiences have been desperately trying to find a period drama that fills the void. Whilst it is now in its sixth season, ‘Vikings’, has seen a gradual reception, with fans only now beginning to see its charm. And here we are with the anticipated release of Season 6 Part 2 on Blu-Ray and DVD, and fans cannot wait to get their hands on it. So today I will be discussing why you should be excited for the release of ‘Vikings Season 6 Part 2’.

1.     The Action – the show provides audiences with some of the best action sequences on television and is filled with brutal hand-to-hand combat and battle stylings from the Vikings. The shot composition of these fight sequences is fantastic as well, with the choreography really being captured. The sequences are presented in a very artistic and thoughtful manner, capturing the brutality of the time period but also keeping the conflict contained to these characters. I am a sucker for great action sequences and I think that Vikings delivers this in spades. The action sequences are cinematic and feel quite realistic.

2.     The characters – the show has some of the best characters on television right now, with the likes of Ragnar, Bjorn, Floki, and Lagertha just to name a few. Each of these characters is given their own individual moments to shine. I love the dynamic of these characters and the way each is presented within the show. Standout performers include Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha and Australian actor Travis Fimmel as Ragnar. These two actors do a brilliant job bringing these characters to life and to date both of these characters remain the most memorable.

3.     The history – The film delves into Norse legend and the history of the Vikings. If you are a history buff, then you will love the presentation of this show. Produced by the History channel, the show dedicates a lot of its resources behind the scenes, to ensure that the show is telling a realistic and accurate re-telling of these events in history. Whilst characters may be fabricated, the show does a fantastic job of depicting the era and setting.

Vikings is a show you don’t want to miss. Filled with glorious action, well-rounded and thoughtful characters, and a realistic depiction of history. This show really does have a bit of everything and you should be picking up Season 6 Part 2 on Blu-ray or DVD today from your local Sanity or Online.
