OneRepublic - Human Album Review

OneRepublic - Human Album Review

OneRepublic’s fifth studio album ‘Human’ has been a long time coming. With the first release date slated for the end of 2019, it received a lot of push backs due to the ongoing global pandemic and logistical problems. But now the band’s new body of work is finally ready to be heard, and thankfully it was well worth the wait.

‘Human’ is an album that redefines OneRepublic as a band. Packed with some of their strongest singles in the past couple of years, the record already sits on these strong anthemic foundations. With ‘Rescue Me’, ‘Run’, ‘Didn’t I’, ‘Better Days’, ‘Somebody To Love’, ‘Lose Somebody’ and ‘Wanted’ solidifying those singalong moments, all they needed to do was elevate it with some more context, and that’s what they’ve done. ‘Distance’, ‘Forgot About You’ and ‘Somebody’ are big upbeat pop singles waiting to be unleashed, while ‘Take It Out On Me’ is a warm sentimental ballad about unconditional love. But ‘Savior’ is the album's crowned jewel. This is a song that is reminiscent of early OneRepublic, and will have you mesmerised by Ryan Tedder’s vocals and the gospel harmonies.

‘Human’ is a cohesive pop record that celebrates OneRepublic’s career as they head into their fourteenth year releasing music. It’s also full of big euphoric anthems that you won’t get out of your head.
