Fargo is an American black comedy crime drama anthology television series created and primarily written by Noah Hawley. The show is inspired by the 1996 film of the same name written and directed by the Coen Brothers, who serve as executive producers on the series alongside Hawley. It premiered on April 15, 2014, on FX. The series follows an anthology format, with each season set in a different era with a different story and mostly new characters and cast, although there is minor overlap. Each season shares a common chronology with the original film.

The third season, set in 2010 & 2011 and starring Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Goran Bogdan and David Thewlis and was recently on SBS and is currently on SBS On Demand.

ABOUT THE COMPOSER Two-time GRAMMY and Emmy-nominated musician Jeff Russo has become a prominent composer, songwriter and arranger in the film and television industry. Russo received an Emmy nomination for his music on FXs hit series FARGO, one of the most Emmy-nominated shows of 2014. Jeff also composed the score for Starzs original drama, “Power”, from executive producer, 50 Cent, an completed co-composing the WGN America drama, “Manhattan” with cellist Zoe Keating.In addition to composing music for film and television, Russo still plays music with his rock band. He is a founding member, lead guitarist and co-songwriter of two-time GRAMMY nominated, multi-platinum selling rock band, TONIC. Their debut album, Lemon Parade, posted three singles in the U.S. Mainstream rock Charts Top 10, with “If You Could Only See”, rocketing to number one. In 2003, the band received two GRAMMY-nominations, one for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “Take Me As I Am”, and one for Best Rock Album.

Russo composed the score for Spikes television mini-series drama, “Tut”, starring Ben Kingsley, and co-wrote the original score for A&E Networks “The Returned”, again, teaming with Zoe Keating. In 2013, he also worked on several feature films, including Shoreline Entertainments “Watercolor Postcards”, starring Laura Bell Bundy, and the independent feature, “Free Ride”, starring Anna Paquin, Cam Gigandet and Drea de Mateo. Russos work can also be heard in films and television shows such as Marvista Entertainments film “Bad Behavior”; the independent feature “About Cherry”; Lifetimes “Meet Jane”; the pilot for ABCs “Charlies Angels”; Showtimes “Shamelss” episode, Its Time to Kill the Turtle; ABCs “My Generation” and “The Unusuals”; a documentary featuring interviews of the original students and teachers of the 1967 Third Wave Experiment, “Lesson Plan”; and ABC/Bad Robots main title song for “What About Brian” with Low Stars. Russo has also contributed to the score for Showtimes “Weeds”; a rap song for ABCs hit-series “Castle”; score for NBCs “Smash”; and NBCs final season of “Crossing Jordan” and debut season of “The Bionic Woman”, both under renowned composers, Wendy & Lisa. Tonics music has also been featured in films such as, Universal Pictures “American Pie” and Dimension Films “Scream 2”.
