When Jonathan Reynolds Jr.s (Robert Cummings) terminally ill father (Charles Laughton) asks to meet his sons new fiance before he dies she happens to be out of town. Fearing she will not return in time, Jonathan asks nightclub hat check girl Anne Terry (Deanna) to help keep his fathers wish. Old Mr. Reynolds is not only totally enchanted by Anne, but despite his doctors prognosis makes a remarkable recovery. Now Junior has to find a way to reveal that Anne is not the girl he wants to marry. Contributing to the shenanigans are veteran character actors Guy Kibbee and Walter Catlett.
