In late October 2010, two days after being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, celebrated singer songwriter JOHN WILLIAMSON took to the stage of the SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE, a venue as iconic as the artist himself. With the musical backdrop of the SYDNEY SYMPHONY, the concert showcased the versatility of a performer celebrating his 40th year in the industry and the strength of songs that could be accompanied by orchestral scores and delivered as never heard before.

The recording represents an integral part of Australia’s musical heritage and landscape; Williamson’s most requested hits transformed through the inclusion of Australia’s most recognised orchestra. Led by conductor GUY NOBLE, the Sydney Symphony, Williamson and his guitarist companion COL WATSON had only one rehearsal together prior to the performance and only a one shot opportunity to capture the concert.
