Music that appropriately fits the background is commonly called BGM. And conversely, there is also (less commonly) music that creates a scene the moment it is played. The power of the twelve songs included in Electric Eel's new album lies right here. The unique temperature of the song and the special emotion conveyed through the lyrics forcefully summon the listener, no matter where they are, sometimes to the cool summer sea or sometimes to a dark alley. If I were to give it a name, I would say it is more like scene maker music than BGM.

Summer days and nights filled with vitality. [Fluke] contains everything you encounter about summer. It contains the dazzling sun, the sound of waves, a heart-pounding love story, and the despair that had to be endured alone at the entrance to a darkened neighborhood. If the refreshing sound and cheerful rhythm are like a dance during the summer day, the simple voice and fresh lyrics are like a walk on a summer night.

The new album [Fluke] can truly be said to be the essence of Electric Eel. For this album, which is filled with twelve completely new songs that have never been released before, we collected demos of about 50 songs, and selected the songs to be included through repeated arrangement work until the final recording. It would not be wrong to say that this full-length album, released four years after the release of their first album, contains everything about the band Electric Eel. Dare I say it, this is an album that is not easy to come out.

In the cover art with the concept of table tennis, the four members' table tennis sticks are busy chasing colorful balls. The balls bouncing around resemble the panorama of our daily lives. The title of this album, which is embedded in the cover art along with balls, is 'Fluke', a word that means a fluke or accidental success. I don't know if it's a parody of the times when luck is needed rather than happiness, or if it's just a joke, but it strangely blends in with the concept of table tennis and makes it fun. It's good to have a serious theory of happiness, but sometimes it's also good to wish each other good luck in getting through big and small daily life problems.
