First LP release Jung Won-young 2nd album [Mr. Moonlight]

The 2nd album [Mr. Moonlight] was the first LP released. Released in 1995 in the full-fledged CD era, this album was only released on CD and cassette at the time, so many fans wanted to release it on vinyl, but after nearly 30 years, the long-cherished wish was finally fulfilled.

Jung Won-young Vol. 2 [Mr. Moonlight] has a lot of vocal tracks, so unlike the first album [The Days Gone], which shares the same track as existing songs, it has a strong fusion jazz tendency and is an album that highlights composer and performer Jeong Won-young.
Of course, vocal tracks are included, such as 'Start Again', which is widely known to the public and can be said to be the biggest hit song by Jung Won-young, 'Gangnam Children', which later became popular with Jang Pil-soon's cover, and the last track, 'People Left Behind', but the rest of the songs are instrumental songs.

Called the first generation of Berkeley and one of the first Korean popular musicians to study abroad, this album fully demonstrates the music learned while polishing in the home of jazz. I wonder if the songs featured here were the music that Jung Won-young most wanted to do in the early and mid-1990s. With funky rhythms and elegant ensembles, the songs that tell the true spirit of fusion jazz and the lyrical songs of the acoustic piano harmonize well, so the flow and composition of the entire album proceeds smoothly. Although the running time is not short, over 48 minutes, it is fun to listen to, so the album ends in an instant.

In addition to the excellent creativity of Jung Won-young, who wrote and composed all the songs, and his excellence as a performer, the participation of luxurious guest/session musicians further enriches the album. Jo Dong-ik, Han Sang-won, Song Hong-seop, Yu Jeong-yeon, Lim Jae-beom, Kim Jang-hoon, Shin Yun-chul, Kim Jong-jin, strangers, etc. All of the figures who can be said to be giants in the Korean music world appear in a row, showing appropriate performances and songs that fit the song without overflowing or lacking. It can be a very enjoyable way to enjoy listening to music by checking which musicians appear in which parts and which performances they play.

This LP has a different album cover from CDs and cassettes. The original cover with a photo of Jung Won-young's face can be seen in the booklet inside the album, and an impressive self-portrait drawn by Jung Won-young himself was used as the new cover. It will also be released in two versions, white and black, making it a good gift for record collectors.
