A singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, lyricist, record producer, arranger, actor, interior designer and clothing designer with eight albums under his belt, a string of awards and nominations and his notoriety as an actor growing. Things couldn't be looking better for Lenny Kravitz as he releases his ninth studio album Black and White America. The first track from the album was 'C'mon And Get It' which was the official theme song for the NBA all stars series with follow up 'Stand' currently being worked across targeted radio and electronic media outlets. He also collaborated with Jay Z who appears on the track 'Boongie Drop'. Kravitz will also be doing selected but key interviews in the lead up to release across major radio and print media. There are also rumours that he may tour Australia in 2011 for the first time since his sold out Are You Gonna Go My Way tour.
"A lot of this record seems to be influenced by what I was listening to in junior high and high school," says Kravitz. "Soul, R&B, bands like Earth, Wind and Fire, Quincy Jones productions like the Brothers Johnsonthese were the type of records that taught me so much about producing and arranging music." Lenny Kravitz has been making records for over twenty years, since his landmark 1989 debut Let Love Rule. In that time, he has sold over 35 million albums and won four Grammy awards.
