President Roots hail from the Mornington Peninsula, due south of Melbourne also home to Gotye, Whitley, The Fauves and Cousin Leonard and an inspiring place to make music.Free from the distractions of the city it could easily lay claim to be Australia’s own Laurel Canyon? Against this backdrop the band has crafted a dozen tracks for their debut album released nationally through Vitamin Records on June 1st. After 2 years of writing, recording and rehearsing Migration is now ready for your ears. The album was recorded on a minimal budget with generous contributions from Julian Mendelsohn (Paul McCartney, Pet Shop Boys, Kate Bush) and Mark Frith (The Electric Soft Parade, Gay Dad, Tom McCrae).
