AFL - Grand Finals Of The Seventies DVD
Step back in time to experience once again the VFL Grand Finals of the 1970s. From the very beginning of the decade, Grand Final footy didn't disappoint. The 1970 Grand Final, widely considered to be the greatest Final of all time, saw Carlton recover from a 44-point half time deficit to beat Collingwood in front of a record crowd of 121,696 at the MCG. The 1971 Grand Final will also live long in the memory; trailing by 20-points at three-quarter time, Hawthorn struck back to defeat St Kilda in a physical encounter played in wet conditions. The following year, Carlton and Richmond fans witnessed the highest-scoring final ever played as the Blues ran out winners in a thriller although the Tigers would avenge this loss in a physical encounter the following year as these two teams met again the VFL Grand Final. Witness North Melbourne's maiden grand final victory in 1975, and then the unforgettable 1977 grand final as the Kangaroos recover from 27 points down at three quarter time to play the second drawn grand final in history, before defeating Collingwood in the replay a week later. Carlton would close the decade with a famous and contentious grand final victory against Collingwood.
