Seattle's Brent Amaker and the Rodeo are influenced by country music classics like Johnny Cash along with art rock/New Wave artists like Devo, with a mood and sound that could crackle from an old jukebox in the background of a Tarantino film. Dressed in black from head to toe, the Rodeo's raucous, whiskey-infused live concerts and non-stop touring has gained them a cult following in the form of the B.A.R Brigade, who come to shows emulating the Rodeo's distinct style. It's a formula that's hard to ignore. Brent Amaker and the Rodeo's music has appeared on the Showtime series Californication and in the indie slasher film Punch by Jay Cynik who also authored the adults-only comic book included with the LP.
