Born and raised in Calgary, 25-year-old Kiesa Rae Ellestad, better known by her stage-name, Kiesza, is a trained ballerina and had served in the Navy as a teen. Her shooting skills had such precision, the Army tried to recruit her as a sniper! Instead, she turned to music, paying homage to singers like Michael Jackson, Martha Wash, CeCe Peniston and Robin S, while adding in more recent influences like Disclosure and Hot Natured. Her 2014 hit single, Hideaway that went #1 in the UK, is packed with deep house grooves & shimmering soulful melodies. This her debut 4 track EP is a mixture of electro pop & nineties dance grooves.
