When the sadistic cowboys stumble on a small Apache camp and discover a vein of gold ore, they resort to murder; killing the Apaches, men, women and children, leaving only one survivor. The men keep the young woman alive in hopes she will lead them to more gold. Only Pitcalin (Joel McCrea) among the five men shows any remorse or kindness to the prisoner.
