Limited Digipak Edition
Clare Bowditch’s fourth studio album, Modern Day Addiction was written on a vintage tone Casio keyboard lending it some unusual beats and what Bowditch calls an ‘immediate sound’. Recorded in Berlin with legendary producer Mocky (Feist, Gonzales, Jamie Lidell, Peaches) in Berlin’s almighty famous Hansa studios (Bowie, Iggy, U2), Modern Day Addiction carries a whiff of the edgy Berlin underground. Late 2009 saw the first release off the album, The Start of War, which received immense air time on Triple J, and recently the second single release, Bigger Than the Money, has proven successful being played across the board and on high rotation on Triple J. Recently, Bowditch completed an intimate three night stand at Sydney’s Opera House where Australian audience’s got the first taste of the new album live; They fell in love with her powerful lyrics, fascinating instrumentation, and amazing humour as audiences ALWAYS do.
There is no doubt that Bowditch’s fourth studio album, Modern Day Addiction will emulate what Bowditch’s previous albums landed her, following the success of 2007’s ‘The Moon Looked On’, and 2005’s “What Was Left”, which received 2 ARIA nominations, including winning the Best Female Artist. Furthermore ALL of Bowditch’s previous albums have been featured as Triple J’s album of the week.
