The much anticipated second album from Hunter Valley singer-songwriter Kirsty Lee Akers sees the diminutive 20 year old mining a musical territory that places her alongside the likes of Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler and Sarah Johns, albeit with her unique Australian outlook well intact. Better Days features songs penned by an all-star list of hit country writers including 2007 BMI Songwriter of the Year Jeffrey Steele (Rascall Flats, Tim McGraw. Montgomery Gentry), Hillary Lindsey (Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson), Gordie Sampson (Keith Urban, Bon Jovi), Rivers Rutherford (Gretchen Wilson, Tim McGraw), Trey Bruce (Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins) Tammi Kidd (Rascal Flatts, Brooks & Dunn) and Angaleena Presley (whose music features on Kirsty's first album) along with material by Kirsty. The album was once again produced by Graham Thompson whose credits include hit albums by James Blundell, Adam Brand, Melinda Schneider & The Sunny Cowgirls.
