Album number six for the Jigga man and this is Jay-Z's 'got beef?' set. One of the most entertaining aspects of his career has been Shawn Carter's ability to lyrically beat down those that have uttered cusses in his direction and, certainly of late, the hip-hop air seems to have grown thicker with barbs and re-barbs sent between Jay and others. This set finds Jay-Z in full rebuff flow but is luckily a lot more accessible than just a bunch of puffed-up word battles. There's production on the album from Timbaland and the Trackmasters (with further contributions from Just Blaze, Kanye West and Bink) so the talent behind the board is equal to the one behind the mic. A supreme contribution to an already blistering portfolio.
