After the success of their debut CD, “Inspiration,” which earned 5-star reviews from Concerti music magazine and Berlin broadcaster rbb Kulturradio and was described as “not only versatile, but [also] […] inspired” (Concerti 2015) and possessing a “warm […] and intimate […] sound” (Kulturradio rbb, 2015), Ensemble Metamorphosen Berlin has now released a disc of works by Tchaikovsky including Souvenir de Florence and his Serenade in C major, op. 48. Special highlights on this disc are new arrangements by cellist and director Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt of Valse sentimentale and October recorded here for the first time for cello and string orchestra.
