It’s been almost three years since Wollongong’s James Stewart Keene released his debut album The Navigator in early 2014. At the time, Jon Wolfe from Country Music Capital News magazine described James “as a name to be reckoned with in the future”. Charm Offensive features co-writes with hit writer Allan Caswell (Coal Town hit the Australian Country Tracks Top 40 Radio Chart in December), Nashville based Aussie Craig Morrison, as well as long time collaborator Steve McNaughton. The result is ten very strong tunes that fit nicely on any contemporary commercial country rock radio format, and engage listeners with catchy tunes and mature lyrics. The majority of the songs are stories about love and the album title Charm Offensive reflects the positive vibe and sound they convey overall.
