Grammy Award Winning singer & songwriter Nelly Furtado is back with her new album “The Ride”, released on March 31. The album was album produced by Grammy Award winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent).
Nelly Furtado broke onto the scene with her debut album, “Whoa, Nelly!” in 2000, a critical and commercial success that spawned two Top 10 Singles, ‘I’m Like a Bird’ and ‘Turn Off The Light’. Off the back of the album, she won her first Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for ‘I’m Like A Bird’. Her most successful album to date “Loose” (2006), featured four #1 singles: ‘Promiscuous’, ‘Maneater’, ‘Say It Right’ and ‘All Good Things (Come to an End)’. She has also featured on Timbaland’s single ‘Give It To Me’ along with Justin Timberlake, which became her third #1 single in the U.S., and second in the U.K.
Furtado has sold over 40 million records worldwide, making her one of the most successful Canadian artists. In Australia, she has sold over 340,000 albums and over 465,000 tracks. She has won several awards throughout her career including; one Grammy Award from seven nominations, one Latin Grammy Award, ten Juno Awards, one BRIT Award, one Billboard Music Award, one MTV Europe Music Award, one World Music Award and three Much Music Video Awards.
