The holidays are arriving early this year with the release of an R. Kelly Christmas album! ’12 Nights Of Christmas’ will be officially announced with a press release next week on October 3rd and will be released on October 21st. There will be no album preorder. The focus track off of the album will be “Home For Christmas.” While there are no plans for an official video for this track, we will have a lyric video launching on album release date. R. Kelly is continuing to tour the US throughout the rest of the year, but to get especially in the Christmas spirit, he will also be doing a few special holiday shows in his hometown of Chicago in December—these dates will be announced in conjunction with the new website launch targeted for October 10th . We will be working on some creative digital initiatives set to launch in December closer to the holidays to help drive sales throughout the end of the year. The US will also be focusing on physical retail placement starting November 1st and will be launching R. Kelly-specific retail initiatives around Thanksgiving/Black Friday to take advantage of the holiday gifting season. The push at US radio will begin in December with holiday e-cards serviced to Urban AC stations, media, and sales partners.
