This is the meeting of two superbly gifted virtuosi and absolute masters of their instrument. Núñez is rightly seen in flamenco guitar circles as the natural heir to the mantle of the late Paco de Lucia. He has opened up flamenco in the direction of pop, jazz and classical music. Wakenius is similarly a musician inspired and infused by both American jazz and world music who is not afraid to stir things up. He is at home in any number of idioms, notably these days in his role as accompanist of the Korean singer Youn Sun Nah.
