In 1982 Sunnyboys released their second album, 'Individuals.' Recorded just six months after delivering the eponymous debut; it demonstrated a maturity well beyond the years of chief songwriter Jeremy Oxley who was just 21 years old. Musically, the band had become more sophisticated layering their harmonies and toying with song structure and instrumentation. Where the album faltered though, was in the final mix. Step forward 30 years though, and an alternative mix of the album is uncovered in the archives of producer Lobby Loyde!

'Individuals' was recorded in New Zealand and ultimately mixed in Los Angeles, however, before it was taken to the States producer Lobby Loyde had provided a rough mix of the album presumably for the ears of Mushroom Records who were funding the operation. The band never heard these mixes.

Of the 11 tracks recorded for Individuals, 8 were retrieved from Lobby's archives with "This Is Real," b-side "Pain" and the title track the only songs remaining on the collection from the original release. The inclusion also of a 5-song radio broadcast from Sydney in 1982 only further proves the opportunity lost when those tapes were taken to Los Angeles.

The power of the band is undeniable and the songs from 'Individuals' radiate with verve and dynamism. The further edition of the 7" single version of "Show Me Some Discipline" - arguably the band's finest moment - shows the continued growth and maturity of songwriter Jeremy as he marches towards the band's swan song "Get Some Fun."
