Rare Rockin' Records' highly anticipated second volume in their "Songwriter Masters Series", this time features an unheralded legend of early 60s pop music, Billy Meshel. We feature 32 tracks from the early years that Billy wrote solo as well as with fellow legends Arthur Altman, Phil Barr and Teddy Randazzo. If you love melodic early 60s Teen Pop, Girl Groups, Doo Wop, Northern Soul, Rock And Roll & The Brill Building sound of the early 60s of writers such as "Goffin/King" & "Mann/ Weil" this CD is for you. There is a great variety of material and lost musical gems to be heard, including many rare tracks by known artists such as Del Shannon, Lenny Welch, Don & Juan, Ginny Arnell & Dion & The Belmonts. If you didn't know Billy before, you certainly will after checking out this CD package. Billy is truly one of the great unsung songwriters of early 60s pop and rock music, not to mention his vocal talents, as 4 of the tracks on this CD are sung by Billy Meshel (sometimes under a pseudonym). This package Features a fantastic 32 page full colour booklet with each track annotated expertly by Mike Edwards & Ash Wells, as well as rare insights of recording songs in the 60s and many amazing stories from Billy himself, as Billy Meshel contributed directly with this project as Associate Producer. There is also great original label scans and rare artists pics throughout the booklet.
