In the days when there was little law west of the Pecos, a patrol of six Texas Rangers faced an ambush while in pursuit of the notorious Cavendish gang. Following a deadly crossfire, the outlaws sped away; unaware that one ranger had survived the attack.After nightfall, an Indian happened upon the bodies and found the injured ranger.
