Hailing from Brooklyn New York, alt-pop band American Authors started out as most young bands do, four bright-eyed students (Zac Barnett, James Adam Shelley, Dave Rubin & Matt Sanchez) with promising futures at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Having outgrown their local gig circuit, the quartet quit school and moved to Brooklyn, becoming one of thousands of New York-based indie bands with questionable futures…

That is until they released their incredibly infectious single Best Day Of My LIfe blew up in the US after appearing in a Lowe's commercial, Major League Baseball and ESPN spots and the trailer for Vince Vaughn's Delivery Man. The single went straight to #18 on the US iTunes chart and reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart. The band were broke and still unemployed so success couldn’t have come at a better time "I had literally nothing left in my bank account, but things really took a left turn. We're thankful how it's all worked out," says Barnett.

The video has received over 5 million views. In Australia the track is taking a similar trajectory having being picked up by local liquor chain BWS for their new commercial and landing in the top 15 on the radio airplay chart and top 10 on the iTunes singles chart.
