This film traces the lives of six friends who are thrown into the chaos of World War Two in France. Each friend faces their own terrible choices whether it is working for the French resistance or being forced to join the Nazi army. Superbly cast this film is a rich and evocative tale of death and honour. In 1939, six friends having dinner in a Paris restaurant hear on the radio the fateful news that the world will soon be plunged into global conflict. Then and there they vow to reunite every year if it is humanly possible but only through victory will they ever be able to meet again.
