At the Crossroads of Rock, Country and Soul.

Having its roots in the 1960S and early 1970S, swamp rock was born deep in the southern towns and cities of America- namely MUSCLE SHOALS, NASHVILLE, MEMPHIS AND MACON, where select groups of (largely unknown) session musicians made musical history on an almost daily basis. Characterised by its soulful and expressive vocals, dirty guitars and tight grooves, artists like THE ALLMAN BROTHERS, MARSHALL TUCKER, LYNYRD SKYNYRD ARETHA FRANKLIN, WILSON PICKETT, ETTA JAMES and many others paint the face of rock as we know it today. The record 'DELTA SWAMP ROCK 2' once again tips its hat to SOUTHERN ROCK LEGENDS, reminiscing on the originality and skill which characterised rock of SOUTHERN AMERICA. A melting pot of country, rock and afro-beat music created a unique sound and gave rise to a new identity for the southern working-class youth. 'Delta Swamp Rock 2' contains EXTENSIVE SLEEVE-NOTES in an accompanying deluxe large outsize book housed in double-backed card case, which also includes stunning photography from the GETTY picture archive and new interviews with a number of the featured artists.
