In 1943 the Unites States Navy have established a number of bases on islands in the Pacific. They approach Emile de Becque a French plantation owner, hoping he will act as a scout. When de Becque becomes involved with U.S. nurse, Nellie Forbush, passions and loyalties are divided as the consequences of war are felt on the beautiful island. Songs include: 'Nothing Like a Dame', 'Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair', 'Bali Hai' and 'Some Enchanted Evening.'
