In 2001, Nelly Furtado crashed the music scene with her album Whoa Nelly and the single I’m Like A Bird. Out of nowhere, the petite Portugese Canadian zoomed up album, single and airplay charts around the world. Her album delivered another 2 hits and established her as one of the hot new creative faces in the pop scene. In Australia, Whoa Nelly was a mulit platinum album. Now In 2003, Nelly Furtado delivers her second album release, Folklore. This eclectic pop album demonstrates her ability to mesh influences from around the world with hip-hop and pop. This is demonstrated in her guest appearances that include: Mike Einziger from Incubus (Explode); Kronos Quartet (One Trick Pony); Caetano Veloso and Zap Mamma (Island Of Wonder); Bela Flek (Forca), Justin Meldal-Johnsen from I Am A Robot (Fresh Off The Boat). The first track from the album is the single Powerless.
